A new year, a new blog goal, a new non-resolution. That’s right, what I’m about to share with you is not a resolution, but rather a manifest for 2017. Let’s take it back before I go further… In 2009 I started my first blog and immediately fell in love with the process, blog design, niche, and community we created. But I didn’t know what I was doing. I had no clue what so ever. So I stopped that blog to create another because I had a bigger vision, but if I had any guidance at all, I would’ve just stuck with what I had, considered re-branding it, and ultimately continued to grow with the community that I was blessed to have. Ignorance will make you do some things, including completely rebranding that second blog into a third…lawd! But I’ve learned because I failed and knowledge is the best thing you can possibly gain from losing. So I started a completely new blog, kept it for a year or so while I thrived at work, was promoted, relocated to California and lost track of blogging in the whirlwind of it all. The frequency of my posts dwindled as I racked up frequent flier miles and hours worked per week for my day job. Eventually I stopped posting altogether and even my social media presence fell by the wayside. Oh, and there was a tumblr somewhere in there too! With all of that said, and with all of the progression and setbacks and comebacks at work, the desire to blog has never left. So for 2017 I’ve made a deal for myself, well, more like a goal: I will post once a week! 52 posts a year, a few Instagram posts here and there (please give your girl a follow), and I’ll still earn a living doing that nine-to-five.
Despite the changes in blogs, urls, social media ebbs & flows, and whatnot, the one thing that hasn’t changed is that I focus on lifestyle: style, interior design, art, paper goods, music, etc. If there’s anything you’d like to see here, whether it’s new topics or specific types of posts such as interviews, videos, etc., please let me know in the comment section or let me know on Twitter or Instagram. Your being here, whether you’re a new visitor or a treasured blog friend, is much appreciated!
